Load Test

load test, stage machinery load test, proof load

What is a Load Test?

A load test is a verification procedure where a stage machinery system is subjected to a load greater than its rated capacity to confirm structural integrity and safe operation. Load tests are performed after installation, after major repairs, and at periodic intervals.

How It Works

Test Procedure (EN 17206): 1) Visual inspection of all components, 2) Apply static test load — hold for minimum 10 minutes, 3) Inspect for permanent deformation, cracks, or damage, 4) Apply dynamic test load — operate through full range, 5) Verify all safety devices function correctly, 6) Document results.

Key Concepts

Static Test125% of SWL — Verify structural strength (held for 10 minutes)
Dynamic Test110% of SWL — Verify operation under overload
Proof Load100% – 125% of SWL — Verify after assembly/repair
Periodic TestPer local regulations — Ongoing compliance
