What is a PLC Controller?
A PLC (Programmable Logic Controller) is an industrial-grade computer used to automate stage machinery operations. In stage control systems, the PLC is the brain that processes operator commands, monitors safety devices, and controls motor movements with precise timing and sequencing.
How It Works
The PLC continuously scans its input signals (operator commands, limit switches, safety sensors) and executes a programmed logic sequence to determine output actions (motor start/stop, speed commands, brake release). The scan cycle typically completes in milliseconds, ensuring responsive and safe control.
