Scissor Lift
scissor lift, stage scissor lift, elevator scissor platform
What is a Scissor Lift?
A scissor lift is a type of stage lift that uses a crossed-beam (scissor) mechanism to provide vertical elevation. The criss-crossing arms extend and contract like an accordion, lifting the platform. Scissor lifts are the most compact stage lift solution for short travel distances.
How It Works
A motor (electric or hydraulic) drives the scissor mechanism. As the crossed arms are pushed together at the base, they spread apart vertically, lifting the platform. Multiple scissor sets can be stacked in series for greater travel height. Advantages include compact when fully collapsed, self-supporting (no external guide rails needed), naturally stable under load, and simple mechanical design.
