Lighting Batten
The BRD Custom Lighting Batten System is a built-to-order electric batten — in US theatre terminology a custom "electric", in UK venues often specified as a custom lighting bar or internally wired bar (IWB). Instead of a standard pipe with cable taped on, we manufacture the complete suspension assembly to your drawings.
What "Custom" Actually Covers
Track length and the layout of sliding hanger frames; the number and position of power sockets along the batten; the size and perforation pattern of the steel feed trough that carries the wiring; suspension point spacing with turnbuckle connectors for final leveling. Every element is manufactured to the venue's ceiling grid and lighting plot, not adapted to it.
How It Goes Together
The track rail mounts to the building structure through the sliding hanger frames, so suspension points can be repositioned without re-drilling the structure. The pipe battens carry sockets at set intervals, and the perforated feed trough above the battens houses and ventilates the wiring loom. Turnbuckles at each suspension point level the whole assembly after installation.
